About the Book

A Girl and Her Moon is a gentle guide for girls learning to understand puberty, menstruation, and the changing rhythms of their bodies.

Through clear explanations, thoughtful reflection, simple self-care, and the Moondala — a creative way to notice and track the menstrual cycle — the book invites girls to meet these changes with curiosity, confidence, and kindness.

More than learning what is happening in her body, it is an invitation for a girl to begin listening to herself and discovering the wisdom within her own changing rhythm.

Understanding
rather than fear.
Curiosity
rather than embarrassment.
Self-awareness
rather than judgment.
Gentleness
rather than perfection.

Meet the Author

Sheril Woehl

Sheril Woehl is an Ayurveda Practitioner, Yoga Teacher, and former Speech-Language Pathologist and Audiologist whose work has long been guided by one question: how can we help people build a kinder, more trusting relationship with their own bodies?

Bringing together her healthcare background with the wisdom of Ayurveda and Yoga, Sheril created A Girl and Her Moon from a simple wish: that every girl could begin her journey into womanhood feeling informed instead of afraid, connected instead of ashamed, and supported instead of alone.

A woman who believes we never completely leave the girl within us behind, Sheril loves learning, creating, nature, and the little rituals that make ordinary days meaningful. She shares her life with her husband, their son, and their beloved Miniature Schnauzer, Layla.

Above all, she hopes this book reminds every girl that, just like the moon, she is free to grow, change, and discover her own beautiful rhythm.
